March 11, 2007 We have heard about it for weeks. Notices have been published in our bulletin. Flyers have been posted around the building. Announcements have been made publicly at every service. Certainly we are without excuse when it comes to knowing about our meeting with Bill Davidson that starts next Sunday! I am confident that Bill will do his very best to preach the truth in love. The question is, will we do our part to ensure the success of his efforts? We are a major part of whether or not this meeting will bring forth the fruit we hope it will. Let’s challenge ourselves. Let’s challenge ourselves to pray everyday for those who have never heard the gospel or have been weak and delinquent. Pray for ourselves because we need encouragement and edification. Pray for Bill’s health and well-being while he prepares to be with us. He and his wife Helen are planning to “camp out” in their fifth-wheel during that week. Pray that everything goes smoothly for them in their plans and travels. Let’s challenge ourselves to work harder in clearing our calendar so that we are able to attend every session. We must challenge our hearts and souls to get excited about the opportunity to hear the truth presented by our friend and neighbor. Let’s challenge ourselves to work diligently to invite the lost, the weak, and the wayward. Our faithful brothers and sisters from area congregations also need to know about the meeting. They too enjoy the life-changing truths of God’s Word. If per chance you didn’t know about this gospel meeting before
you began reading this article, you are now without excuse, just like
the rest of us. What a wonderful opportunity we all have now to join together
and make this meeting one of the best we have ever had. It’s now
up to us. Will we meet the challenge? |
