F A T H E R
F is for FAITHFUL. Fathers should
be faithful to God first, then to their families. As a child growing
up, I didn’t have to worry about my father and mother not
being faithful to each other. They realized marriage is for life
or “unto death do us part.”
A is for AFFECTION. There were a
lot of worldly possessions that I did not have as a child, but I
didn’t realize it at the time. The greatest of all possessions
was to experience the warmth and love of both my father and mother.
The bumper sticker asks, “Have you hugged your children today?”
T is for TIME. We hear so much about
time and rightly so. There is nothing equal to the fact that as
a father you spend time with your children. Little Johnny or little
Suzie will be grown before you know it!
H is for HERITAGE. What are you,
as a father, leaving behind for your children? Have you worked above
and beyond to give your child material things, but neglected their
spiritual well being? The greatest heritage a son or daughter could
have would be the privilege of having a Christian father.
E is for EXAMPLE. As you know, your
example is powerful. My own father’s example as a kind and
compassionate man has influenced me greatly. Also his example in
regular church attendance instilled within me the great importance
of putting the church first.
R is for REPROVE. Reprove means to
correct or to rebuke. So often we as parents believe that if we
reprimand our children that we do not love them, but the Bible teaches
right the opposite. Fathers have a great responsibility to see that
their children are brought up in the nurture and admonition of the
Lord.
We, as sons and daughters, are indebted to our
earthly fathers. This is especially true if they are the type of
fathers that God would have them to be. We should respect the wisdom
of the “hoary head” and never refer to our dad as the
“old man.”

Have We Produced a Generation
That Knows Not God,
Nor Cares About The Bible Principles of Morality?
Randy White
We have murdered 30 million babies in the last
twenty years. We call it abortion. The Bible calls it murder.
The Bible speaks of drunkenness. We call it alcoholism,
sickness, or disease. The Bible calls it sin.
The United States uses more grain to make alcohol
than to make bread. For every dollar collected from alcohol taxes,
it cost $11.64 to only try to repair damage done by drinking.
Addiction to drugs is at an all time high. Heroine
alone has 500,000 addicts.
The Bible calls lasciviousness—unbridled
lust and shameful. We call it modern and liberal art and support
it with tax money.
The Bible says that homosexuality is contrary to
nature and God (Rom. 1:27). We call it gay or an alternate lifestyle.
The Bible calls it sin.
There are 1.3 million couples living together without
marriage. The Bible calls it fornication (Matthew 5:28).
May God fearing people everywhere pray that we
may again be a nation that fears God; that we will be a land which
the Lord cares for because of our righteousness, that the eyes of
the Lord will always be upon us (Voice of Truth International Vol.
27 Pg. 76).
Our society says that we can live any way we want
and still be found acceptable to God. The Bible says, “Righteousness
exalteth a nation; but sin is a reproach to any people” God
simply will not bless a nation of people who refuse to give heed
to His word. Christ’s church has the responsibility of sending
out His saving message to all the world (Mt. 28:19-20; Mk. 16:15-16).
Understanding this, may God fearing Christians everywhere continue
to stand diligently for truth and preach the message of salvation.

Think It Over
When you are told by the attending physician that
you have only a little while to live, you will not regret one moment
you have spent in the study of your Bible. After all other books
are laid aside, this Word will still face you in God’s Judgment!
We plead with you to carefully use this sacred volume in this life!
It is God’s personal message to you. Don’t ignore or
neglect it.
“And now, brethren, I commend you to God
and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and
to give you an inheritance among all those which are sanctified”
(Acts 20:32).
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto
my path” (Psalms 119:105). “Thy righteousness is an
everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth (Psalms 119:142).
“My soul fainteth for thy salvation, but I hope in thy word”
(Psalms 119:81).

it from the church office. Visitors from the church are appreciated.

What a wonderful time we had this year at Vacation Bible School.
We have heard so many comments on the enjoyable theme and
enthusiasm in both teaching and learning. We appreciate everyone
who was involved. A big “Thank You” to all of
our teachers, classroom helpers, bell ringers, Market Place
crafters, refreshment makers, kitchen helpers, and cleaner-uppers.

Hugs
Hugs are a near perfect cure for what ails you. They have
no batteries to wear out. Hugs need no periodic checkups.
They are inflation-proof and have low energy consumption.
Hugs are free with no monthly payments or insurance requirements.
They are theft proof, non-taxable, non-polluting, and fully
returnable! Hugs can relieve tension, combat depression, reduce
stress, improve blood circulation, invigorate, rejuvenate,
generate goodwill, and elevate self-esteem. Hugs must be kept
wholesome and appropriate. It is wise to make sure about your
hugging. Before you open up your arms, make sure the other
person is open and receptive to them.

“WE CAN’T”
James Willcutt
Some who say, “We can’t,” never
tried.
Some who say, “We can’t,” don’t.
Some who say, “We can’t,” can’t.
All who say, “We can’t,” speak only for themselves.
All who say, “We can’t,” exclude God, and if they
exclude God, they are probably right.
None should say, “We can’t,” when God says we
must.
All who say, “We can’t,” should
repent and be like Paul who said, “I can do all things through
Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13). “What
shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be
against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up
for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”
(Romans 8:31-32).
Remember: One with God is a majority. God without
anyone is still a majority. With God, and according to His will,
we not only can, but we most certainly will. To God be the glory.
