The Values of VBS

VBS not only builds respect for God’s Word and His Church,
it is an effective way
to teach God’s Word.

VBS will open doors for teaching children and their parents
who are not
New Testament Christians.

VBS assists parents to bring up their children
in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

VBS will increase our Sunday
Bible Study for all classes.

VBS furnishes a wonderful opportunity for our teachers,
associate teachers, and all helpers to “practice their skills.”

VBS helps all of us to grow in
grace and knowledge of our Lord
(II Peter 3:18).

Library News
A new book has been donated to the library by Chris Steele. A Time to Build is the newest book from the Bellview Lectureship in Pensacola. Great books, videos, and other material are made available for our members in the church library. If you have not been back there lately, why not go take a look? Amy and Amanda Smith have been working diligently to organize and sort through the material that we have. To check out a book, just sign and date the list, and return it in a reasonable amount of time.

Meeting
We are considering changing our meeting nights which will be announced this week. The next meeting will be at the Steele’s house. We plan to watch a DVD entitled Discover the Truth by Brad Harrub. He specializes in origins, evolution, dinosaurs, and the scientific accuracy of the Bible. Brad spoke recently at a Creation Seminar in Clearwater. He holds about 40 of these a year.

In The Mail
We just received a card in the mail this week from Leonard & Gloria Jones. It has been put on the bulletin board for everyone to read.

If anyone needs access to the building to prepare their classrooms for Vacation Bible School, please let Chris Steele know. Also, if there are supplies that need to be purchased, please let him know as soon as possible. We would like to accommodate you in anyway we can. Thanks for your continued dedication and service in our education department.

Missions Update
By the time you see this update, Erin will be home from West Africa. We will be able to ask her first-hand about her experiences over the last several weeks. We are looking forward to this with great anticipation. Erin’s reports and email, up through last week, are still on the bulletin board. Let’s keep Bob Sneve in our prayers as he will be leaving July 11th for Honduras. Stayed tuned here for his reports.

Following God to VBS

My dishes went unwashed today.
I didn’t make my bed;
I took God’s hand
and followed Him to VBS instead.

Oh, yes, we went adventuring—
The children and I—
Exploring the whole Bible
For truths we can’t deny.

My house was sure neglected,
I didn’t sweep the stairs—
In twenty years no one on earth
Will know, or even care.

But that I’ve helped a boy or girl
To noble adulthood grow,
In twenty years the whole wide world
May look, and see, and know.
