Jesus Loves Me

Jesus loves me, this I know,
Though my hair is white as snow.
Though my sight is growing dim,
Still He bids me trust in Him.

YES, JESUS LOVES ME...YES, JESUS LOVES ME…
YES, JESUS LOVES ME… THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.

Though my steps are oh, so slow,
With my hand in His I’ll go.
On though life, let come what may,
He’ll be there to lead the way.

YES, JESUS LOVES ME...YES, JESUS LOVES ME…
YES, JESUS LOVES ME… THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.

Though I am no longer young,
I have much which He’s begun.
Let me serve Christ with a smile,
Go with others the extra mile.

YES, JESUS LOVES ME… YES, JESUS LOVES ME…
YES, JESUS LOVES ME… THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.

When the nights are dark and long,
In my heart He puts a song.
Telling me in words so clear,
“Have no fear, for I am near.”

YES, JESUS LOVES ME...YES, JESUS LOVES ME…
YES, JESUS LOVES ME… THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.

When my work on earth is done,
And life’s victories have been won.
He will take me home above,
Then I’ll understand His love.

YES, JESUS LOVES ME...YES, JESUS LOVES ME…
YES, JESUS LOVES ME… THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.

I love Jesus, does he know?
Have I ever told Him so?
Jesus loves to hear me say,
That I love Him every day.

God Bless Us All

LIVING OUR FAITH
Roger Rush

As Christians we understand that it is impossible to separate faith from life. Every aspect of life is impacted by faith. Faith dictates conduct. The Scriptures could not be clearer. Paul wrote to the church at
Philippi: “Only let your conversation (conduct) be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that he stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel” (Philippians 1:27). There it is. Conduct must be governed by the gospel.

Religion is validated not simply by what we say but by what we do. “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world” (James 1:27). The apostle John asked: “But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him how dwelleth the love of God in him?” (1 John 3:17). He then went on to admonish: “My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth” (1 John 3:18). It is not enough to talk a good religion, we must live it!

Faith dictates how we deal with each other. It was Jesus who said, “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets” (Matthew 7:12). Believers understand that it is not how people treat us, but how we treat them that matters. We must be patient, considerate, and kind even when those around us are not.

It is faith which determines what we value. Believers recognize the importance of “seeking first the kingdom” (Matthew 6:33), letting Christ have “first place” in our lives (Colossians 1:18), and “fearing God and keeping His commandments” (Ecclesiastes 12:13). Jesus asked, “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mat. 16:26). Life isn’t about what we have but what we are!

We cannot divorce faith from life. Faith is betrayed by unholy living. Faith is validated by a godly life!

FAITH
Author Unknown

Doubt sees the obstacles;
faith sees the way.
Doubt sees the darkest night;
faith sees the day.
Doubt fears to take a step;
faith soars on high.
Doubt questions, “Who believes?”
Faith answers, “I.”

Life is a mirror:
if you frown at it,
it frowns back;
if you smile,
it returns the greeting.

1,000,000 Thanks
What a great time we had at VBS this year! Although our numbers were down some, that didn’t stop our dedicated teachers and faithful students from their studies in God glorious Word. We appreciate each and every worker for all that was done. Programs like this would not be possible without those who are willing to go the extra mile and demonstrate what the love for God is all about. When we love the Lord we will love those things associated with the Lord! A special “thank you” to our teachers: Amanda Smith, Anna Hall, Erin Steele, Amy Smith, Ruby Molitor, Bob Sneve, Sean Keith, Gary York, and Chris Steele. As always Jeri Pohlman did an excellent job with the “Market Place” crafts. Betty Hoeck, Doris Spitzer, and Nancy Sneve organized the kitchen with a handful of other volunteers. Our list would not be complete without thanking all of those who attended.

Missions Update
Let’s be praying for Bob Sneve as he leaves on Wednesday for Honduras in Central America. Bob will be traveling with the same group with whom Dana Bushong and Carrie (Fortney) Sturgius traveled a few years ago. We will be anxious to hear of all the good that Bob was able to do for the growth of the kingdom there. He will be gone for about a week.

TURN TO GOD
Harold F. Mohn

Within your moments of despair
And in your sorrow too,
Turn to God and you will find
An inner strength anew.

In times that trouble breaks
your heart
And, too, in times of fear,
Turn to God and you will find
His helping hand is near.

Remember when you need a friend,
A friend that’s tried and true,
You need but turn to God and find
His friendship beckons you.
