The Great Mind Behind all Things Good

Be Strong, Be Well — Saturday, July 25

On the one-hand we read, “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?" (Romans 11:33-34).

Then we read, “According as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3).

These passages seem to say two different things, and yet they are in perfect harmony.

First of all, God didn’t tell us everything. With our limited minds we couldn’t handle even a mere fraction of what God knows. Therefore, it's impossible for us to search the mind of God or give Him any advice.

However, God never intended for us to stand in ignorance. He revealed what He wants us to know and understand. This is all we need to know. God has given us sufficient information to search Him out and find Him.

In our quest for the knowledge of God, our only source is the Scriptures. We must make a serious effort to find those precious words God decided to give us. And then be diligent in our study to understand the message of the Great Mind, behind all things good. —Chris
