ID Required

The big political argument these days is over ID’s. Should we have to prove who we are to vote? I don’t know about you, but it seems logical to me. We have to use official identification for just about everything we do—get a job, get paid, get a refund on our tax return, drive a car, get health insurance, get married, the list goes on and on. There will always be something we must do to be able to enjoy certain privileges.

What a relief God knows who we are. He knows who belongs to Him and who doesn’t. ” Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His...” (2 Timothy 2:19).

The names of the faithful and obedient have been written in heaven. No one will get into heaven without the proper ID. “But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life” (Revelation 21:27).

We have been identified by Him because we became like Jesus Christ. The Lord said, “I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own” (John 10:14).

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).

If we want to get into heaven, we must have our ID’s in order before Christ returns. “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work... Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city” (Revelation 22:12, 14). —Chris
