The Great Designer

Be Strong, Be Well — Sunday, December 20, 2020

Tomorrow will be the winter solstice. In the Northern Hemisphere, the winter solstice is the shortest day and longest night of the year. After tomorrow, days will start getting longer and nights shorter as spring approaches.

The Winter Solstice comes around every year. But on this Winter Solstice something phenomenal will take place. Shortly after sunset, the two largest planets in our solar system, Jupiter and Saturn, will appear to almost merge. This will be the closest together they have been in nearly 800 years. You won’t need binoculars or a telescope to see this phenomenal scene.

After last weekend’s spectacular meteor shower, we are reminded once again, of God’s wonderful and amazing creation. The consistent timing of our moving universe allows scientists to tell us about these things and precisely when they’re going to happen. This proves a great Designer and Creator does exist.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork” (Psalm 19:1).

“When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?” (Psalm 8:3, 4). —Chris
