“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, Keeping watch on the evil and the good“ (Prov. 15:3). How comforting to know God sees all that goes on in our world. God knows all the details and will judge those of Russia and Ukraine. He sees the mind and actions of the leaders of every nation associated with these countries. His judgment may come in this life, but ultimately in the Last Day. “All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats” (Matthew 25:32).
“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, Keeping watch on the evil and the good.“ The judges of the earth (good, and just, or corrupt, dishonest and evil), God sees them all. He knows the thoughts and intents of their hearts. Again, He reserves the right to bring them before the great Judge of heaven and earth. We pray the reforms of Jehoshaphat could be implemented in our country. “Then he set judges in the land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city, and said to the judges, “Take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment. Now, therefore, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take care and do it, for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes” (2 Chronicles 19:5–7). May our Supreme Court justices take heed.
“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, Keeping watch on the evil and the good.“ From leaders and judges to the lowliest citizens of any nation, God sees and knows each of us, whether our deeds are good or evil. He will judge us accordingly on the great Judgment Day. “For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, Whether good or evil” (Ecclesiastes 12:14).
When God says He keeps watch on the evil, He sees every evil thing but does not condone them. There are plenty of scriptures telling us of His attitude toward those who practice sin, and what His ultimate judgment will be.
This is very comforting and sobering at the same time. God also keeps watching the good and those who practice righteousness. Good will ultimately win over evil. Wicked people will be put down and punished. Jesus said, “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work” (Revelation 22:12).
“Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life” (Revelation 2:10).
What does the Lord see when He looks at you?
